In the 12th century, the coast of Adjara stood at the crossroads of major trade routes, cultures, and great expeditions. Historians associate this region with the Crusaders' campaign from Jerusalem to support King David IV the Builder, one of Georgia’s greatest monarchs.
On August 12, 1121, at the Battle of Didgori, the forces of King David IV the Builder secured one of the greatest victories in Georgian history, ushering in the country’s Golden Age. This remarkable historical legacy inspired the creation of Sky Castle and became the foundation of the project’s unique legend.
